lemmings

uh...

wow, you first submission kicks ass.

It sounded really nice out of my speakers, then I put on headphones, and it just went to another level. The airy pads and woodwind combination is so dreamy, and the bass is chill groovin. I really liked the lfo type effect panning whenever theres a crash. Oh and its peaking now, with a sweet transition.

This is too epic right now...miliatry snare roll, are you kidding me. Really pulled it all out for this. The bass and synth combo right afterwards pretty spot on. The resonance fades out, and a bell chime to wrap it all up.

z0di4c responds:

Thanks! This is probably one of more accomplished compositions =P

Gladly

It sounded a lil bit off-time, but its obvious you recorded so I give you props for that. The piano was the main feature in this song, but it got really repetetive. At the end around 3 min, you definatly need to improvise on the melody. The bass showed the most diversity in the beginning, and played straight quarters for the rest of the time. Its alot easier to move the song around with a diverse bass. The drums had a lot of power at certain points in the song.

I think I was most fond of the pads and effects you had in the quiter sections. The sound quality of the guitar was lacking, some notes ended aburptly and were off-time. Nice use of panning throughout the song. The synth hits at the end were pretty sweet too.

Gotta run! Peace

kevs91 responds:

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear here that I still can't really play guitar. But after so many takes, I ended up taking it as long as it sounded good, which is probably awful laziness, but I hadn't finished anything in a month and I really wanted something that I could listen to through and feel like it was complete.

I never really considered the piano to be the main feature of the song, and I know it gets repetitive, so I could definitely change that up.

Thanks for the great review.

quite the milestone

getting there myself, in the 90s methinks....

but this song is very nice. The first section didnt flow too well into the next one, the harp was too powerful, keep the intro patch going on after the fade in, will help. I wasn't too fond of the bass drum, thinking crashes would go better on most of the hits, except at the end, when it was more busy. Once the horns come in, im imagining a milatary snare roll

Ended so abruptly, what a tease...
50th voter, 5/5 ^!^

The tract was decent

very 80 heavy metal.

But the singing nailed it for me...listen to Iron Maiden much? jeez, nice range, some parts were rushed, but sounded superb

MattZombie responds:

That's our singer's favorite band. He even has the Iron Maiden logo tattooed on his arm.

exploration indeed

but put more delay on the snare, and bring that second bell lead up an octave harmonize, it sounds wack down low...yea that part at the end. The background is very nice, and ambient

Nice job

CosmicGamez responds:

Thanks, I'll try and fix that up.

one thing for sure

driving bass beat, eigth notes the whole time. Im listening one my labtop which doesnt really have a sub, but when its just strings and drums it sounds really empty. This songs needs to be pumping movement, cant slow down!

Nermio responds:

There is some bass, pretty much, but I could have more as you say but I think I think you'll need some bigger speakers to really enjoy it.

Thanks!

hand drums

and groovy bass, with a keyboard. Its very jazzy, and i loved the rezzed synth that came in. Sounded like you had alitle piano solo in the middle there, but it was really hard to hear. Im guessing you recorded it, maybe adjust the velocity, or dont make it so wet with reverb...everything came together nicely. There were alot of breaks, although it sounded like the same beat and bassline the whole time.

Digging the fact that its recorded, so you get a 10/5

heavy

The intro fill was too militaristic, put some tom action in on that part. The second guitar could probably be put up another octave, it would stand out more, and that sound is beter suited for a melody. The main riffs were accented very nicely by the drums. Not a bad track at all, just those few things really.

Try throwing some epic strings and bass in too, make the sound more full!!

Mataro responds:

Always happy to have ya' stop by, RyeGuyHead. Always loved reading your reviews :D

This definitely is meant to sound a bit militaristic.. I was planning on working further on this and releasing another version. I think you just gave me all the ideas I'll need to do it.

I'll actually get to work on it right away.. Glad to hear from ya' and thanks for the review! :D

nice little track

great build up, choir pad and drums. I really liked what the next synth that wasintroduced played, it was very industrial and molded perfectly with the drumline. There souded like there was some clipping issues, little blips here and there, sort of annoyed me. The feedback type synth sounded like its rhythym was a bit off. Drum fills were really tight. Nice fade out at the end too.

Good stuff yo, keep it up

thegreatmorph responds:

Yeah, I really have no idea what's going on with it... corrupted file maybe?

Thanks for the feedback anyway, greatly appreciated.
