what the...

the song changed so much at the minute marker. It got all down-tempo and grooved out, with the organ and keyboard patches, it made the song for me. Drums are always changing, definatly a plus. The beginning is a little too random for my tastes, but its definatly a sick track. The minute marker especially reminds me of the gorillaz.

check out my latest?

SineRider responds:

Yeah, this was a total experiment with sampling and stuff. I'm glad you liked it. I brought so of my craziest drum programming and manual glitching I could do in the beginning. I think it came out good.

I will check your song now :)

yeaaaa

you deserve a ten and a five(more will come)

cux you're the man, and this song is sick, for sure, pitch bends are on point...

what else woudl i consider...

the main drum beat was very driving, glitch fills, always changing, the pad is nice and dark.

Once the pad fills out, the drums hold a pattern, but they are always vairatinr I think you added strings, but im not sure, sort of sruggling to type right now.

Its a little repetive, but the there is a lot of movement in the middle, nothing is the same, i like how the beat is always changing...

Nice effectis on the pad, with the attack, and the drums coming back in. oooh, that fade out is nice, but I want so much more.

Sorry for being greedy....

Are the vocals saying something at the very beginning or is it just me....

(video game all the way...)

maybe a newer golden eye(N64) feel, so says my roomate...

LJCoffee responds:

Hey RGH,

Haven't seen you around in a while. Thanks for the comments. The vocals really aren't saying much of anything - they started out as a sort of semi-melodic pseudo-phonemish wialing. They've been reversed, effected, in some cases reversed again and run through a huge amount of reverb so it really only just hints at something resembling speech at this point.

Thanks again - talk to you in a bit.

.....i think ive seen longer....

oh my

Basoon played around very nicely with the bells. Piano came in and dropped out instantly, I'm sure it will be back. The timpani was a little over powerful at some points. Flute almost doesnt dound high enough, maybe its in the eq, could be the patch though, its really dry sounding. Nice little delay before the chords get all minor on the run down. Bringin back the original melody, nice touch. It does sort of sound like FF7 when it goes up on the first part of the melody.

Piano sounds superb, wanted some more variation the second go around. Should have the piano played constat arpegios or something, maybe it will come at the end. Little breakdown, the snare should be rolling more, and there shoujld be a bass kick. Then it would sound dead on like an orchestra rhthym section.

Is that the choir coming in for the first time now? Probably not...

SolusLunes responds:

That's what she said.

It's probably the patch with the flute- I haven't been able to find just the right sound for it.

:p

i liked the way

the heavyness drops in after the piano. At some electric guitar and acoustic piano feel out of place, mainly when there is not string/pad accompianment. It flows great, could tell when the chorus was coming. Vocals weren't that great, no offense to whoever sang, might have been a recording thing. That screaming part came out of nowhere, but was totally mainstream haha.

The guitar solo sealed it in my book. With a little tweaking I could definatly hear this on the radio.

booom kick

the first part was very catchy, I liked how it came back in during the piano section, and the drop back in to the beat was on point. The piano definatly needs more reverb though, and could use another part on a lower octave to give the impression of someone actually sitting down and playing. The third drop was too much, could have used a different transtion there haha. Its repetetive but theres alot of variation, so which makes good trance. Drum breakdown at the end was pretty awesome, but it needs more snare and less kick. Yea!

Kr1z responds:

allright thanks!!

please explain

the reference to kelly osbourne.

Everything else at least seemed at least somewhat in place...did she get married recently? We already know shes got no talent...Im lost. Song sort of drags you along. Good shit

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

yo bro
kelly is the embodiment of celebrity-worship society which is what this song is partly about.
yep
;ped

who is this tutankamen character?

like king tut or something. I imagine pharaohs forcing slaves to work on building the pyramids while theyre crusing down the nile in rafts made out of human bones!!! The bass drums represent the every hack on the limestone(?) slabs. I can almsot feel the crack of thw whip.

Wait, the egyptians didnt build the pyramids, aliens did....

This song is very thematic, and the dynamics are all over the place. Great job. The brass kicks ass

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

Tutankhamen = full name for King Tut (I think)

haha I like how you described my track. that some pretty kickass visuals right there.

Thanks for the review! and i'm really glad you noticed the dynamics, i put a lot of effort into that department.

Interesting

typing with my left hand, cuz my right is muncging kettle corn...

the melody of the intro was very retro soynding. I wonder if you could hold some of those chords longer. The transition was my favorite, reminded me of an aeroplane. The next part was ver trancy, with the basic kick bass count. Then the melodys come back. some of the fills and drums at the end are overpowering. very unique sound

Now go leave me a present...(its a celebration)

omgitskatman responds:

lol xD. The begging was Ambient Trance. I wanted to try lol!
Yeah ok. And it really is..

nice vocal samples

If you play WoW, Göst is a fiery destruction lock that is ready to bring the pain. I play on burning legion mostly....

But yea this song is ridiculous. Turning the warcraft overture into a dance tune takes some skill for sure. The dwarves always make me laugh. Is that flute/oboe sampled or sequenced. The strings are on spot too. Most impressive

(I read your blog, and I have been submitting music since '03, haha)

SkyMarshall responds:

Hi there! Im over at Mazrigos, running about with a Draenei Shaman named Shamarshall, of all original names to pick:) And thanks for the 10 man. The flute and oboe are ofcourse sequenced using similar instruments. I like the fact that you like it :)
