Like our universe?

the pad is really eerie, but the synths are so pop sounding. The piano could have used a little more action in the melody after the 1:10 mark. The strings sound really cool panning back and forth, full as hell too. Oh yea, knew the drop was coming haha. Low piano notes are badass during this part. Pads are really crazy, they modulation on them sounds like a mandolin strumming.

SuperGoodSound responds:

There were still some parts i listen to now that I recognize need just a tad more work...

But don't worry, I'll keep improving this stuff.

derp

cool bells in the echo background. Organ might have beel a little overpowered...

nice evil laugh. I could imagine some crunching guitar riffs coming in after it. They would fit well with the drums. The part at 1:10 needed another lead, not another bass, it gets boring as is. The whole second half has been pretty repetetive so far actually.

It's alright. nice feel, mediocre execution. I want more of the initial instrument!

CKC2009 responds:

meh.

hall of the mountain king

is from the nutcracker suite. Though its not the dance of the sugar plum fairy, which is more commonly associated with it. I would probably take out the piano in this one, doesn't really go with the atmosphere.

Wasn't too fond of the drums at the end, but it sounds pretty cool. I think a slowed down remix of this would be more epic.

I might have to try that...

White noise

If you have a noise gate/limiter I would apply it. Some of it sounds nice, like when it bends. Maybe, instead, it would be best to have some other constant feedback type noise(maybe the reverb on the piano) to be soley in the right side of the mix, just cuz that airy sound is so heavy on the left.

Piano melody is subtle, but extremely relaxing

this mix

is incredible.

the harmonys just before two minutes are siiiick sounding. Right now I'm waiting for a guitar solo. I am a big fan of instrumental music, but I could very easily imagine vocal tracks on this. The choir patch should be dropped down a pitch, sounds out of place at that register.

Xenogenocide responds:

I'm not too great with guitar solos unfortunately, so the only one you get to hear is at 1:16.

The 'choir patch', which I'm sure you mean string patch because there is no choirs, was just a cheap ass quick download of a VST from google. No pitch correction tools came with it sadly.

But overall, I'm happy that you liked it :)

sweet

i think the kick should be turned down slightly, its masking the other sounds on my headphones. This is a long track, so I am happy to hear all the dynamic variation.

the part at four minutes should have started the climax, not the build-up to it. As is, it starts to drag on during the last two minutes...

solid shit, though

cool

percussion is really cool

I would have taken out the jazzy aspect and that piano melody. The bass would sound really cool coming in sooner, around the thirty second mark. I'd try to get some bright sounding horns to play the off-beat on the lows and follow the bass on the highs.

Just some suggestions...

Tombor911 responds:

wow that helps a lot thank you so much!!!!

Such a great song

eh its a midi rip, waiting to hear the metal aspect come in.

The horns sound great, maybe take out the synth element on that upper one. It sounds cool, but it stands out maybe too much. Cool drum fill.

Nice. haha. Could be heavier I guess. The chugging could be more full, that would help. Also, open hats should last a little longer and come out more. Cool little break. Ah, the comes the straight chugs.

transition

that was really awkward how it went to the next part, which I wasn't fond of. You should just build on the original arp melody, it sounds pretty cool.

sk8erwarr responds:

Ok. Thank I Will Throw In Some Transitions. Thanx For the Criticism.

Bitter

as most are

Drum fx sound great, and the rolls are on cue

The female vocals were very cool, arp could have been leveled out a bit more in some sections. Some strange language, a sample? mysterious...

the part at 3:00 was unecesarry, really

haywirehaywire responds:

aight thanks
