why 13/8...?

peculiar, makes for a unique sound. Celtic music. sounds like that would be fun to try. Where is the bagpipe and pan flute, only with those instruments can the dance around the sacrificial fire pit commence. The drum fill you used in the intro and at the end was off, try just having it do eigth notes, it sounds rushed at the start of the pattern.

Other than that, yea, good work

Nice to hear some melodious music coming out of the ap

ProfessorChaos22 responds:

Wh 13/8 you ask, purely for a challenge. I always write music in the normal 4/4 3/4 12/8 6/8 and so forth. So I composed a melody in 13/8 to see what it sounds like. The drum fills were sextuplets (or triplets in the 8th=1 sense), but they were quantized and yes I wanted them to rush the sound a little. It's not nearly done yet, the 2nd section is in 4/4. I am currently writing a pan flute part, and I can't find any good bag pipe sounds, so that is on hold .
Thanks for the review!

Goth?

definatly not

Cool?

Id say so, loops well. Nice little drum fills with the open hi hats. INtrestign little modulating pads and bells. Funny you submit something like this.

Check out my latest. Not quite as laid back as this, but much in the same style

Whirlguy responds:

Oh cool! Ill check it^-^
Thanks for the review!

I always liked trip hop

but this really didnt do much for me. Drums were pretty much the same throughtout, with the exception of filter modulation. Bass definatly needs to have more kick in it. Altohough the second synth bass you used was pretty crazy. It suspended on that high note then creeped slowly down. The woodwind instrument was an interesting touch as well.

The whole middle section was quite superb, then it went back to the original beat. Nice little transition with the square lead. The bass drum had too much reverb and sounded muddled when it came in with that part. Sick as hell still. Nice little synth solo lol.

Couldnt hear what the GW samples were saying at all, until the very end. I was expecting to get some laughs out of them. Oh well :(

Nie experiemental track from you SR

Why have we not collabed yet?

SineRider responds:

Thank you for the criticisms man. Obviously this isn't a strong genre for me so anything can help.

Hmm, A colab would be cool :D

Selling this for 5000?

Unless your bullshitting,Please fill me in.
It sounds a little dry to me, but its a rap beat so i guess thats fine. The synths were pretty generic and your bell sound is sort of shitty. Drum beat is way to simple. Its just a basic kick with a clap on the down beat. Methinks you could have done a lot more with it. Keep working.

(Must find a way to sell my beats....)

*Im listening to this at school so i dunno how it sounds on subs*

silverplated3 responds:

nigga ...THEN DONT REVIEW TILL U DO! DAMN! You can't hear the bass or anything i bet since you at school ...you people are idiots ...anyway jus go to Rocbattle.com and sell em ¬ ¬

Very cool

So original. I especially liked the intro voice thing, how you manipulated the filter so it dropped out. Then the song builds. But it doesnt really go anywhere. The melody stays the same, and the drums dont really bring much variation.

Its a sweet track though, nicely mastered (more bass), great flow, and its definatly replayable.

Good job

R-VeeBee responds:

Thanks!

Yeah you're right about the thing don't going anywhere. It's a bit repetitive. Ah well.

Thanks again =)

Most definatly

Loops a hell of alot better than my battle loop.

Freaking crazy lead bass dude, its so grainy and crisp, and crunchy....
Had a little fun with envelopes there at the end didnt you? Would have liked to see them used more frequently throughout the entire track though.

I think a choir would very much fit the track, could be because you have a malstrom with a vox sample on it already...you should bring it out more if that is the case.

The drums are pretty basic but they fit and the fills connect the song good enough.

Good quality loop Sinerider, check out my Pico loop if you get the time :)

SineRider responds:

Thanks man. I'll think abotu your comments next time I attempt DnB or something of that sort.

I'll check yours out now :)

Graceful? NO, Majestic

The bell was alittle loud in the beginning.

If you would have let the pade hold out longer in the beginning it probably would have been able to build even more.

I imagine a little leprachaun playing the flute when the melody first comes in....

When it gets orchestrated with sick snare rolls and horn accompianment it sounds much more artful. Im still after his lucky charms

I just got an orchestration refill so hopefully ill have some stuff like this out soon too =)

Rucklo responds:

haha, thanx man :)

:ooooo:<:>:<:>aahhhhh:<:>:<:>

Loops and all.

Beat is very laid back and glitchy all at the same time. I get tired of glitch beats that cause my head to explode, this was a welcome change. Tons of variation in your drums fills, and the panning is all over the place.

The chord progression was so jazzy and funky. I wanted some crazy sax solo to come in. Come to think of it that moog bass, does sound oftly similar to a baritone sax....

Me likes

(care to check out my latest two submissions?)
Dont feel obligated or anything

attemptedperfection responds:

Thanks for the reivew!
This one actually started out as just a drum track to put behind the acapella 1st track off the new "Love" Beatles compilation. It sounded really good too, but I then realized that it would probably be a little illegal to submit it to Newgrounds, so I decided to evolve the drums some more and added on a bluesy/jazzy chord progression, melody and such, and made it into an original loop instead of a remix.
*drum fill & cymbal crash*
"Fascinating!"

At any rate, I'll get around to reviewing your stuff soon as I can. Thanks again for the review!

funky

Beat starts out very sick...

But then things get odd, and although that is the goal of atonal, the musical randomness, it was a bit out there.

Crazy job with the panning, and the multiple layers of drum beat. Im thinking you had too much fun just splicing things up, but you left my brain tripping and head hurting.

Everything starts speeding up until the song finalizes with a crash and burn

What were you on mr coffee?

LJCoffee responds:

a bit out there eh? - Yeah I guess it is. I have a tendency to completely miss the point at which I should probably stop.

As for what I'm on? - only a blood test would reveal that. :)

I like how it grows

fades in and then breaks it down. With the glitch beats constantly in the background. The plucked short synth should have switched patterns/rhytyms after the vocals dropped off for the first time. Just to diversify it a little bit more.

Your beats have gotten insane, thats pretty much all there is to say there. As usuual, the panning is quite impressive, and I am taken far off to some other place, where i can drift off among the clouds. - Does that make sense?

Just like there's two sides to every coin
There's two sides to everyone.

Acurately titled, superb sound, quit hangin around us mortals

Kingbastard responds:

haha, thanks for the review man.
