Not bad

Once the drums pick up and the bass stays sort of the same chord progression, i thought that it sort of dragged on. But I did like the flanged out drum roll... The effects were really cool, and everything sounded really clean. I must say that the bass progression was way too repetetive for me, but thats probably just me. Oh well, I liked it

Anima-Theory responds:

The reason it drags on is the fact that it's battle sequence music. :P

So yeah

Thanks very much for the review

Very skilled

In composition with the piano. All of the instruments worked well together, but i espsecially liked the wah guitar...i can never get one to sounds so crisp. The synth that was panned to the left was pretty cool, i wouldnt have had it so exposed though. The bassline was very soulful but i wished you had more of a synth attack to it. Still very nicely done

LaymanLove responds:

I hear what you're saying with the synth attack to it, but I decided last minute to keep it on the chill side. I had a friend of color help me put the extra soul in this one, haha. Thanks for the listen and the review!

Haha

Was quite nice in all honesty. You can easily make out that this isnt a midi rip, which is awesome, and the sounds meshed very well togethet, especially once the song started to pick up. Some of the pitch bends in the electric guitars were too severe, but other than that, well done

pyroguy-37 responds:

yeah..I know what you mean about the pitch bends.. While I was recording I didn't even realize that they were THAT severe...believe it or not..I make my music using a Sony Playstation One, and the game MTV Music Generator..and I RARELY use presets! All I have to do from there is use the line in port on my MP3 player and record :P. Thanks for the review!

Call me old fashioned

But i really don't enjoy this type of stuff. Sure you had great samples, and you put them into your song and it had a beat and quality mastering. But there was no melody and it basically impossible to groove out to as well. I have seen the program your using in action, and chopping the entire song can be done at the touch of a button, but you shouldnt use that function just for the hell of it. Its got potential, but the bottom line is: Its too repetitive and random, which is, by nature, an extremely unhealthy oxymoron.

Ill go out on a limb and say this shouldnt be number 1, i hope im not alone with this oppinnion, for i fear relentless flaming

dj-padman1 responds:

Ok, so how does quality mastering (it's not by the way!) equate to a 4 for clarity. And secondly, what samples? All the synths are played. Maybe I should have recorded a coke can being compressed and turned it into a snare or something?
It's fair enough that you don't like it. No worries. I just don't quite understand how your marking coincides with your comments.
Lastly, can you please tell me what button I can push to chop the entire song? That sounds fun, but I haven't seen it yet.
Thanks for the review all the same. And I'll direct you to BOUNC3 (too cool for small caps) if you want melody.
I agree with you, there's a lot of randomness and chaos here. But what is wrong with that? It may not appeal to you, but I'm sure a few people like something a little different.
And don't fear 'relentless flaming'. Firstly, you're just stating your reasonable opinion. Second, most people on this site no doubt agree with you.

this is in return for kindness

The buildup was too basic, at least switch up the second instrument that was introduced, so that it doesnt play the same bassline as the original pad. The second chord was a bit dischordant, but that ok, i can look past that.

The song really didnt go anywhere
Just a repeat of previous patterns, and i know thats hard to avoid while using fruity loops...i did it for wuite some time, but it will really separate you as an artist by creating a melody that flows between different harmonies.

Aye, it is something i am still developing

IamMark responds:

yeah i know it is still a bit repetative but if you listened to the first one you would see there has been a LOT of progress as well as a bit more variety. as for the bassline, i like the bass. its...bassy =)

It is quite possible

This was too weird. The synths you used were too ambient for the hard break beat you used, it needs at least something with some punch. The part in the middle...well it pretty much made my head spin, and i thought you were going to lose me al together, but the part after was intense.

This whole style of music is pretty cazy

dj-padman1 responds:

Yeah, I messed up the mix completely, it sounds pretty unpleasant. I probably should have made the last part the actual song, because the bass-line actually works well and there's less fx and random clutter.

And yeah, the style of music is crazy, but so are we for hanging out on Newgrounds.

The beginning

really got me pumped up for something increible, and the slap bass was a nice touch to it. THe piano part was cool, but sort of a downer after the intense opening. The harpsichord-organ was too loud, and although it was the melody, took away from the other instruments. Both of the slow parts you had were cool, but they didnt quite fit in. You should work on smoothing out your transitions.

That probably sounded pretty negative, but its just critisim, I thought you did a good job

XGM-Zeth responds:

I agree, The only reason I actually uploaded this was because I didnt want it in my musical anyways.
(School Project).

So it was the weakest link.
Thank you for critism, and I knew about the piano parts and such being too hasty, It's just that they had to be like that, in order to fit the scene.

hey,

I nkow what you did for this one too. You went through all your instruments, and played ONE note over and over again. Never gets broing? more like always irritating.

Try again

dustyh responds:

Oh, sorry. Sounded cool to me though.

wow.....

you wrote two notes, and called it a loop

Try again

dustyh responds:

Well... it's usefull as a loop nonetheless (I am making these for flash usage, not saying they are great musical compositions on their own).

yeah....

so for some reason it doesnt stream for me, but it downloads, so just do that.
Sorry for the inconvenience
I am baffled
