Oh ya

This is tight. Sort of wished the first synth was an octae lower, could maybe throw another one on top aswell. The siren pad was sweet. Orchestra sounded fine, the pizz was a little too overpowering at points.

Piano sounded nice, could have been a little brighter, the reverb sort of muffled it.

The beat was tight, alot of the patterns were used over and over again in different parts of the song, but it never got old.

ah yes

only thing that takes away from this song is the repetitive melody and drums that really didnt evolve, which is understandable for a short loop, but could have had more diversity even still. I liked how you faded out the fast string part at the end, it makes the song wrap very nicely.

Keep on kicking ass, i was pulling for this song from the beginning of the contest!!! ;)

I think i will

preset, or no preset, it set the mood nicely...

Your synth hits following were on point, created a nice progressive melody, once the filter got tweaked up in the fill, it should have stayed that way for a bit longer to give the next section more power...

Interlude

Would have liked to hear a more realistic piano, that would be tight. Gah, drums were so generic and plain...

Guitar solo needed more variation in rhythym to start out with, i liked how you switched key signatures in that section though.

The part that started at 5 min was my fav.

Keep it up, you got some skills!!!

Drums were nice

Im not sure you really know what youre doing with your instruments, melody progression wise. Same thing over and over again, and when new patters are inroduced they create a lot of dissonance.

Keep working at it though man, youll figure it out

DjSpazTech responds:

Thanks, i had a issues with this one but with all the info everyones been givin me, expect something better soon, peace out!

oooh, this is my style

Sitar and digeredo(or w/e that inst s called haha) The guitar came out of nowhere, it created so much chaos, a little bit of my brain melted.

I liked the part that followed, once the song focused on the bass riff, it was a little more melodic. The synth breakdown was a nice touch, the toms came in at the perfect time, i was thinking war drums would sound nice...

i dont how much of this is sequenced and how much is recorded which is a good thing. Why is there no guitar solo....

What proram do you use man?

Lashmush responds:

All of it is sequenced. That's why there is no guitarsolo.

Now I use Renoise 1.8.0 but for this song I used ModPlug 1.16.

Also, the "digeredo" that you referred to is an indian ensemble.

Go on with your bad self

Look at you, on the all-time highest scoring list. Wait a moment, it says your song is ranked 3,000 on score rank. You know, i dont get this new system at all hahaha...

The song followed the same arpegio/chord progression the whole time. But the melody was still very expressive. I liked the sine synth line right before the wind started blowing, it came out of the background nicely, wished you would have expanded on it alot more, so that it grew with the drums once they came in.

Song lacked some percussive elements, like a bass drum, i just heard clicks and hats. It was very relaxing though, so Ima give you a 5 to help out you're cause

O hell yea

This song rocks yo. I feel like im in dynasty warriors haha

DarKsidE555 responds:

Hm, don't know the band though but thanks a lot for checking! :)

very dreamy

The use of the rain created a serene atmosphere and the pan flute accompianment only hightened the mood. The song's climax sort of creeped up on me, i was like woah!, where did that choir come from?...

A song like this could use some bongos, but everything could really. That owl creeped me out, is that the guardian you speek of? The guitar solo at the end was very pleasant.

MaestroRage responds:

Hey RyeGuyHead.

This song really does have a lot of a serene atmosphere doesn't it... to be honest the foundation of this song was supplied to me by LadyArsenic, I was taken by it, and asked her if I could work on it some, she gracefully allowed me and it took off from there.

The owl is not the gaurdian, but of a woman with immense power. Gentle, serene, and absolutely stunning in movement as well as in rest. Her story was also moving, if only I had saved it...

oh well, thank you for the review RyeGuyHead. I am glad you liked it, thank you for the review!

Onward, to battle!

The melody could have been more orchestrated, using more octaves and maybe some brass would have brought it out more. The beginning sounded fine with the strings, but after the breakdown it should have boomed more, instead of losing force.

Percussion sounded fine, the end was a little weak, thats all

MaestroRage responds:

The melody in my opinion could not be more orchestrated. In order to make a melody that isn't tiring, I would have had to make the loop longer, if the loop is too long, it would make the download rate of the game too slow.

If I had orchestrated it more with just this minute loop, it would have been much too tiring on the ears to hear again and again. So this piece doesn't have too much melody wise. If I do make an extended version of it, it would have a LOT more to it.

As for Brass. It has... a lot of brass. Unless you are referring to the melody itself, that has no brass, only strings true. Since this piece relies very heavily on the percussion I did not want to muddle it up further with brass on top of the strings. It would have made hearing the finer details harder.

I do agree, the ending could have used a bit more work, maybe i'll submit a V2 soon.

Thank you for the review RyeGuyHead! I'm glad you liked it!

Was definatly a good soundtrack

I only wished that te choir would have had a more majestic progressive melody. All the samples you used sounded really good though. The drums are so tribal haha
